  5. UNICOM is not and has never been public domain
  6. software, nor is it free software.  UNICOM is 
  7. copyrighted by Data Graphics and any unauthorized use
  8. or use inconsistent with the terms of this 
  9. license is an infringement of the copyright. 
  10.  
  11. The trial version of UNICOM may be used without
  12. registration on a 21-day trial basis for the purpose
  13. of determining whether UNICOM is suitable for your
  14. needs.  The use of UNICOM, except for the initial 
  15. 21-day trial, requires registration.  Beyond the 
  16. 21-day trial period, the use of unlicensed copies of
  17. UNICOM by any person, business, corporation,
  18. government agency or any other entity is strictly
  19. prohibited.  After the 21-day trial period, you must
  20. either register the software or erase it. 
  21.  
  22. A single user license permits a user to use UNICOM
  23. only on a single computer.  A purchaser of a single 
  24. user license may use the program on different 
  25. computers, but may not use the program on more 
  26. than one computer at the same time. 
  27.  
  28. No one may modify or patch the UNICOM executable
  29. files in any way, including but not limited to 
  30. decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise reverse
  31. engineering the program. 
  32.  
  33. A limited license is granted to copy and distribute 
  34. the limited trial version of UNICOM only for the trial
  35. use of others, subject to the above limitations, and
  36. also the following:
  37.  
  38. 1) UNICOM be copied in unmodified form, complete
  39. with all accompanying files, documentation,
  40. order forms and this license information.
  41.  
  42. 2) UNICOM may not be distributed in conjunction with any
  43. other product without a specific license to do so
  44. from Data Graphics.
  45.  
  46. 3) No fee, charge, or other compensation may be
  47. requested or accepted, except as authorized below:
  48.  
  49.     A) Operators of electronic bulletin board 
  50.     systems (sysops) may make the limited trial
  51.     version of UNICOM available for downloading
  52.     only as long as the above conditions are met. 
  53.     An overall or time-dependent charge for the
  54.     use of the bulletin board system is permitted 
  55.     as long as there is not a specific charge for
  56.     the download of UNICOM. 
  57.  
  58.     B) Vendors of user-supported or shareware
  59.     software may distribute only the most current 
  60.     limited trial version of UNICOM without specific 
  61.     permission, subject to the above conditions. 
  62.     It is the responsibility of the vendor  
  63.     to obtain the latest trial version. Vendors
  64.     may charge a disk duplication and handling fee,
  65.     which may not exceed eight dollars. 
  66.  
  67. 4) The Unicom full feature retail and full feature 
  68.    trial versions may not be distributed through 
  69.    shareware, posted on electronic services or 
  70.    distributed by any means without written 
  71.    authorization from Data Graphics.
  72.  
  73.              LIMITED WARRANTY 
  74.  
  75. Data Graphics warrants for a period of 60 days from
  76. the date of original delivery by Data Graphics that
  77. the program will perform in substantial compliance
  78. with the documentation supplied with the software
  79. product.  During the warranty period, if the software
  80. does not perform as warranted, the users exclusive 
  81. remedy shall be to send all copies of the software and 
  82. documentation to Data Graphics, which shall, at its
  83. sole option, either refund the license fee or repair
  84. or replace the software. 
  85.  
  86. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, THIS PRODUCT IS SUPPLIED ON
  87. AN "AS IS BASIS" AND DATA GRAPHICS DISCLAIMS ALL
  88. WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT
  89. NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND 
  90. FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WITH RESPECT TO THE 
  91. PRODUCT.  SHOULD THE PROGRAM PROVE DEFECTIVE, THE USER 
  92. ASSUMES THE RISK OF PAYING THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL
  93. NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR, OR CORRECTION AND ANY 
  94. INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.  IN NO EVENT WILL 
  95. DATA GRAPHICS BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL OR
  96. CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES OR LOST
  97. PROFITS (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR
  98. BUSINESS INTERRUPTION OR LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION)
  99. ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR THE INABILITY TO USE THIS
  100. PRODUCT EVEN IF DATA GRAPHICS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE
  101. POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. DATA GRAPHICS LIABILITY
  102. TO THE USER HEREUNDER, IF ANY,SHALL IN NO EVENT EXCEED
  103. THE PRICE PAID FOR THE LICENSE TO USE THE PROGRAM,
  104. REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF THE CLAIM.
  105.  
  106. Use of this product for any period of time constitutes
  107. your acceptance of this agreement and subjects you to
  108. its contents.
  109.  
  110.        U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS 
  111.  
  112. Use, duplication, or disclosure by the Government is
  113. subject to restrictions as set forth in subdivision
  114. (c)(1)(ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and 
  115. Computer Software clause at DFARS 252.227-7013.
